About CanVasc
CanVasc was officially founded November 1st, 2010, in Toronto. CanVasc is a non-profit scientific network dedicated to advancing vasculitis care.
Our Objectives
The proposed CanVasc objectives are to advance vasculitis care and research through comprehensive and clinical networks and educational initiatives.
Clinical and Research Network
Organize and maintain a dedicated network with identification of referral (multidisciplinary) centers across Canada to optimize the care of patients and vasculitis
Initiate Studies
Initiate, conduct, and promote studies (epidemiological, observational, fundamental and therapeutic) on vasculitis across Canada.
Educational Programs
Develop educational and awareness programs for health care providers including training sessions, fellowships, meetings, and educational materials.
Advisory Groups
Stand as the Canadian referral and advisory group to identify needs in vasculitis and support drug approvals for vasculitis in Canada.
Since its creation, CanVasc core members have worked hard together to develop the first Canadian recommendations for the management of ANCA-associated vasculitides, published in 2016 and updated in 2020 and 2022, developed the first Canadian educational case-based textbook on vasculitis (CAVALI), multiple Webinars and a video podcast on key vasculitis topics and to conduct several cohort studies, a national registry on vasculitis, and participate in many therapeutic trials.
